I only used two, but if you have sufficient funds I would recommend mounting a laser in ever corner of the screen. The only thing that was quite a hassle for me to do was picking up the signal through the LCD backlight, which for some reason messed up my camera. So before buying lasers, you should do some research on band- or highpass filters (Thorlabs is a good place to start) and camera's (I use a modded xbox live cam which worked sort of okay, but investing in a better camera is definitely a smart thing to do if you're serious about this). Just built my first TFIR panel, too bad I found the lasers after I completed it ! I'm also interested in seeing how you set up the IR lasers.... can you use the near IR or better use true IR lasers ? How many do you need ? I'm starting to think to build a much bigger panel (2m high), is one or two lasers still sufficent ? What about user security ?
